Heifers should meet the current Russian veterinary specification for your region. Check with your local veterinary authority for the latest actual situation and how to obtain the required import licence.

In addition to the veterinary specification we advise to buy heifers according to the following specifications:

• Heifers are no older than 30 months at calving
• Heifers are no younger than 21 months at calving
• Heifers are maximum 5 months pregnant when they enter quarantine in Holland
• Heifers are minimum 2 months pregnant when they enter quarantine in Holland
• Heifers are 100% Black and White Holstein Friesian (HF) according to there herd book pedigree, up to 20% Red and White HF is acceptable
• Heifers mothers have produced at least 7000 litres in the first lactation, 8000 litres in the second lactation and 9000 litres in the third lactation
• Heifers are well developed according to there age, are in good health and are not lame
• Heifers have been dehorned properly
• The legs of the heifers show no thickenings of the skin on the front leg knees, the hocks or the elbows
• The hoofs of the heifers are properly developed and are not in need of trimming
• The eye-lenses of the heifers show no signs of whitening
• The udder of the heifers is not already visibly unequal, shows no accessory teats (very small accessory teats, not in the immediate vicinity of the functional teats, are accepted)
